Teenagers who took mobile phone video footage of themselves attempting so-called 'free-running' stunts in a multi-storey car park have been warned by police.

Officers said they were “very busy responding to calls about this from concerned members of the public”, who called after seeing the trio climbing and attempting tricks at Edinburgh Road car park in Ashford.

Town centre officers PC Mark Reast and PCSO Helen Ingram have issued a warning about the dangers.

One of the three, all of whom are in their early teens, was taken home by PC Reast and PCSO Ingram in the Hawkeye surveillance van and the other two were asked for their names and addresses.

PCSO Ingram said: “We will be sending out letters to their parents.

“This is extremely dangerous, practically suicidal in fact.

“The youths who are featured on TV or have clips on social networking sites have been practising for years in safe environments."

PCSO Ingram added: "This type of reckless “copy cat” activity will result in an accident sooner or later.”
