Bike It - Like It was the winning slogan for a design competition run by Downland Cycles in Canterbury.

The company wanted an image for a new range of fluorescent rucksack and pannier covers.

To help encourage young cyclists to wear a high-viz jacket, they threw open the competition to schools.

The shop received more than 170 entries and Daniel Martin, nine, who attends Blean school, produced the winning entry, with the image of a bike with smiley faces for wheels and the slogan Bike It – Like It.

Daniel received a Sea France cross-channel ferry return ticket and other cycling goodies.

Julie Jackson of Downland Cycles said: “The new high-viz covers will soon be available and we hope young people will be more inclined to use them without feeling uncool.”
