Strangled student: Police still questioning suspect

DETECTIVES are continuing to question a 21-year-old man in connection with the murder of a teenage student in north Kent.

Police have bailed a 19-year-old man they were also questioning after Natalie Janiak, 18, was found dead in an alleyway at Wilmington near Dartford at the weekend. However, he remains in custody after being charged with vehicle offences. Both men are believed to be from the London area.

Police launched a murder investigation after a post mortem examination revealed Miss Janiak, from Blackheath in south east London, had been asphyxiated.

Her body was found by a man walking his dog on Saturday morning.
