A MEMORIAL service is being held in Dover today to mark the anniversary of the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster.

The cross-Channel ferry sank off the coast of Zeebrugge in 1987 when 193 people died, including 38 members of the crew.

Today's service starts at 11am at the Dover Seafarers' Centre, Snargate Street, and will be followed by light refreshments.
