A CCTV image of a man police want to question in connection with a racist assault at a Kent railway station has been released.

The incident happened on a platform at Gravesend station.

CCTV footage shows a man walk from platform one to platform two before punching the Asian victim in the mouth, splitting his lip.

Det Const Andy Parkinson, from British Transport Police, said: "The man then shouted a racist slur at the Asian victim before boarding a London-bound train."

The offender is white, aged in his 30s, about 6ft tall, with brown hair. He was wearing a brown waist-length coat and light-blue jeans.

Anyone with information about this incident, which took place shortly after 2pm on February 13, is asked to contact police on 0207 391 5275.
