GRAVESEND & Northfleet's plans for a new 10,000-seater stadium could be ready by the end of the year.

If the project gets the necessary financial backing, the Fleet could be in their new home within two to five years.

Club chairman Brian Kilcullen admitted that talk of Gillingham’s potential move to the Gravesham area have made things happen more quickly.

He said: "It’s not an anti-Gillingham thing or an anti-Paul Scally thing. Ever since we took over the club in 1999/2000, we have planned to build a new stadium.

"But its fair to say Gillingham’s ideas about moving to this area have speeded up the process."
