Woman rescued from fire in kitchen at Western Avenue, Herne Bay

Firefighters have rescued an elderly woman from a fire which broke out in her kitchen.

Crews were called out at around 4.15pm, and spent just over 15 minutes tackling the small fire in Western Avenue, Herne Bay.

They used breathing apparatus and a hose reel, plus a special fan to ventilate the house.

Police were also called out, and ambulance crews treated the woman.
