Death crash driver named

POLICE have named the Jaguar driver who died on Wednesday morning after a crash involving two cars and a lorry in Ramsgate. Francis John Bobbing, 64, of Central Parade, Herne Bay, was in collision with a car transporter and then pushed into the path of a Ford Mondeo.

Kent Air Ambulance were called to the scene at Canterbury Road West, but the man was dead on arrival at the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate.

A family travelling in the Mondeo, a 36-year-old woman, a 33-year-old man, a six-year-old girl and an 18-month-old baby, escaped without serious injuries from the crash. They were also treated at hospital in Margate. The driver of the car transporter, a 35-year-old from Powys, Wales, has been s bailed without charge until March 7.

Any witnesses who have not yet been interviewed are asked to contact PC Richard Lawton on 01843 222124. An inquest will be held.
