A SLIP road on the M26 near Wrotham was closed off today after a lorry overturned (Rudolf Richter writes).

At one stage it was feared that a car may have been trapped underneath the lorry when it shed its load of bricks but police later revealed that was not the case.

A spokeswoman for Kent Police said: “The lorry driver has minor injuries to the head but nothing serious.”

Police called for heavy lifting equipment to heave the truck off the road. The incident happened at about 7.20am.
