Farm worker found dead in field named

A YOUNG farm labourer found dead in a field has been identified by police.

The body of Ruslans Stolbovs, 23, from Daugavpils in Latvia, was discovered at Court Lodge Farm in Yalding, near Maidstone, by a passer-by on March 27.

Police had to wait until a relative could be flown over from Latvia to name him formally.

An inquest was opened and adjouned by Medway and Mid Kent Coroner Roger Sykes, pending the results of investigations by police and the Health and Safety Executive.

Although the death was originally treated as suspicious, it is now believed Mr Stolbovs may have sustained his head injuries after falling off a tractor.
