Man remains in hospital after Chatham assault

Police have arrested two people in connection with an alleged assault in which a man was struck by a car.

Officers were called to The Brook, Chatham on Monday, September 8 around 11.25am following reports of a fight in the area.

During the incident a 35 year old man from Rochester, who had a white Staffordshire Bull Terrier with him, was hit by a car and was rushed to hospital where he is currently being treated.

Police say a female has been bailed until November and 35 year old, Lewis Lo, from Rochester has been charged with causing Grevious Bodily Harm with intent and dangerous driving.

Case officer Sgt Dan Smith said, "Our investigation into this incident has progressed well but we would still urge anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.

"We are particularly interested in what happened in the build up to the incident and believe that people driving or walking past may have seen the man with the dog.

"This was an isolated incident and there are no offenders outstanding. There is no threat to the public and people should not be concerned."
