Dover Athletic boss Nicky Forster has promised more new faces at Crabble ahead of the new season after taking his summer signings to six with the capture of Calum Willock this week.

Forster (pictured) had earlier boosted his ranks with the signing of wideman Ricky Modeste from Chelmsford last week, to add to keeper Mitchell Walker, defender Daniel Webb and central midfielders Dean Rance and Steven Thompson.

However, the Dover boss has not ruled out adding another striker to his ranks before the start of the season.

He said: "We are fixed at the back and in goal but it’s no secret that we want more attacking players.

"We lacked some firepower and a cutting edge last season. Too many times we created chances but were unable to take them.

"I would say this because I was a striker but it is the hardest position to play. You need to have instincts and a knack for scoring.

"If you have that, then you’re going to have a lot of interest in you and we’re finding that. Clubs everywhere are trying to push the boat out and compete."

Forster said the arrival of 24-year-old Modeste is important because it will help his team play with width.

He said: "Ricky will give us something extra in wide areas. I wanted to play 4-4-2 last season but I don’t think we had the players, or at least not the players in form, to be able to do that."
