Swindon 1 Charlton 1

Skipper Nicky Bailey rifled in a dramatic stoppage time equaliser as Charlton grabbed a point at Swindon in League 1 on Saturday.

Deon Burton laid the ball off for Bailey in the third minute of injury-time and the midfielder made no mistake as he drilled into the bottom corner to claim what could still prove a vital point in the Addicks' promotion push.

The home side took the lead in the 65th minute when right-back Kevin Amankwaah half volleyed low into the corner.

Earlier, Jonathan Douglas had forced Addicks keeper Rob Elliot into a decent save on 12 minutes before Gordon Greer struck the bar with an effort.

Charlton hit the woodwork themselves six minutes before the break when Jonjo Shelvey's shot shaved the crossbar.

Nicky Bailey saw a second half shot comfortably saved by David Lucas and Charlton seemed to be heading for a fourth leage defeat of the season until the skipper popped up to score for the third match in succession.

With Leeds drawing and Norwich losing it was a bonus for Phil Parkinson's side that they didn't lose any ground on the top two.
