This fire-ravaged shell is all that remains of a bungalow in a Kent town after

a blaze ripped through the property.

The fire took place in Walderslade Road, Chatham, in the early hours of Saturday.

Crews from Medway fire station and a height vehicle from Maidstone were called to the scene shortly before 1am. Police also attended.

It is thought the detached property was boarded up and vacant at the time of the incident. There are not believed to be any casualties.

A crew from Medway fire station returned to the scene at about 8am Saturday to check the property and make it safe.

An investigation into the blaze has been launched.
