Valuable clock thieves 'running out of time'

A LORRY containing thousands of pounds worth of clocks has been stolen from a layby in a village near Maidstone.

The white Daf lorry, which had a red trailer, was stolen from a layby in Castle Way, Leybourne, between 9.30pm on Saturday, June 24 and 7.30am on Sunday, June 25. It was later found abandoned in Brentwood in Essex, minus the clocks.

Maidstone and Malling Police are now appealing for information on the clocks, some of which are types that have not been sold before.

PC Cara Ferguson said: “These clocks are distinctive and we are confident someone will know where they are. We would like to hear from anyone who has information that could help our investigation."

She stressed: "Our message to the thieves is that they may have stolen numerous clocks but they are running out of time.”

Anyone with any information should contact PC Cara Ferguson on 01622 608182 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
