At the time of the crash there were very think pockets of fog across the county and police were urging motorists to take extra care while driving in such difficult conditions.

Several people who were in the area at the time have left comments on our website.

One from Brenda said: "I was at junction 9 at the underpass at about 13.20 trying to go coast bound when the M20 was being closed.

"There were illuminated warning signs telling drivers to slow down, but as usual they were being ignored as many drivers in the third lane just had to get that bit further in the queue before cutting in.

"Many were without lights in fog."

A spokesman for Kent Police confirmed the vehicle involved was a foreign registered car.

Tracey added: "Always sad to hear another life lost on this road. I was stuck for ages, I wish people would take care in the fog."
