JEPSON: "The facilities are top class, really top drawer"

RONNIE JEPSON is making the most of "top drawer" French facilities as he builds his squad's fitness in readiness for the start of the League 1 season.

As part of his pre-season programme, the Gills boss took his players to Le Touquet on Tuesday for five days of intensive training and behind-closed-doors matches.

Jepson said: "The facilities are top class, really top drawer. There's a lovely playing surface, running track and lots of good facilities.

"The boys have been working hard. There are one or two stiff legs and we are just starting to build fitness levels.

"They are nowhere near what they need to be at the moment but we have a programme in place and it's all about getting them to peak for August 11."
