No goals in tame opening half

Matt Jarvis has come close twice
Matt Jarvis has come close twice

Gillingham 0 – 0 Yeovil Town

NEITHER side has found a breakthrough and chances have been few and far between in the opening 45 minutes at Priestfield.

Gillingham started the brighter of the two sides and should have taken the lead after just three minutes, but Matt Jarvis shot wide after a bad mistake by Yeovil keeper Chris Weale.

Yeovil’s best chances came from set pieces. The nearest they came was from a corner when Efe Sodje was left unmarked to head across goal, but Gills were able to clear their lines after a goalmouth scramble.

Jarvis went close again for Gillingham just before the break but Weale did well to save.

Gillingham: Crichton, Rose, Johnson, Hope, Williams, Hessenthaler, Crofts, Flynn, Jackman, Jarvis, Harris.
Subs: Knowles, Saunders, Spiller, Wallis, Ashikodi.
