Striker back for relegation crunch match

SIDIBE: Likely to go straight back into the starting line-up
SIDIBE: Likely to go straight back into the starting line-up

Gillingham v Cardiff City

MAMADY Sidibe is expected to return to the Gillingham squad for the crucial basement battle against Cardiff City at Priestfield on Saturday.

Sidibe missed the 2-0 defeat at Derby with a slight hamstring strain but has recovered to boost Gills' survival hopes.

The Mali international is due to have a fitness test today (Friday), and could come straight back into the starting line-up at the expense of Darren Byfield.

Meanwhile, the situation with former player-manager Andy Hessenthaler has not been resolved yet.

His loan spell at Hull comes to an end after this weekend, making him available for Gillingham’s game at Forest.

But Gills assistant manager Ronnie Jepson said he did not know whether the midfielder would rejoin the squad for their final game.
