Boreham Wood 0 - 2 Welling United

ADRIAN Pennock's Welling side progressed through the FA Cup second round qualifying at Boreham Wood with two goals in eight minutes at the end of the first half.

The Wings made hard work of their task against their Southern League Division 1 East opponents.

The home side could have easily been in front with strikers Chris Bangura and Leon Archer both going close.

Welling took the lead eight minutes before half-time when a long free kick was never cleared and Steve Perkins nodded home.

Defender Chris Moore blazed over two minutes later before, in the third minute of first half stoppage time, Boreham Wood committed defensive suicide and Perkins squared to allow James Pinnock to slot hime the second.

After the break the Wigns remained solid at the back and Wood offered little in attack.

Moore had a header tipped over late on but the Wings were never seriously troubled and go into Monday's draw.
