Maidstone: Bouhlel Barhoumi to stand trial over traffic sex act

A man will stand trial after allegedly performing a sex act in front of a woman while standing in the middle of traffic.

Bouhlel Barhoumi appeared at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court to deny four charges following the incident in the town’s Fairmeadow in April.

The court heard how the 43-year-old, of Scott Street, was crossing at the junction with Bishops Way despite the pedestrian signal being red.

He was clipped by a car and fell over, with the vehicle driving off.

Barhoumi allegedly got up and threw his watch at another car, kicked it and assaulted the driver before exposing himself and performing a sex act in the direction of the female passenger while calling out obscene phrases.

The police arrived and arrested him and he reportedly made rude gestures at motorists and simulated further sex acts before allegedly wrapping his leg around one officer and head butting him.

Barhoumi denied criminal damage, two counts of assault and outraging public decency and will stand trial in October at the same court.
