Pupil at Chatham Grammar School for Girls allegedly approached and threatened by man at bus stop

A schoolgirl has been threatened by a man at a bus stop in Chatham.

The incident happened yesterday evening at the stop near the former Tesco site at The Brook, Chatham.

Jane Singer, associate head teacher at Chatham Grammar School for Girls in Rainham Road, sent out a letter warning parents and pupils about the incident.

She said: “It has been bought to our attention that a school student has been approached and threatened by a man at the Tesco bus stop in Chatham.

“Being aware of this information will enable you to ensure that your son/daughter travels safely and is vigilant.”

Police have been contacted for a comment.
