A REQUEST for bail was rejected by magistrates when a 19-year-old woman appeared in court charged with murder on Wednesday.

Kirsty Scamp, of High Street, Sheerness, is accused of killing Jason Bull, of the same address, on Monday night.

Mr Bull died on his 28th birthday following an incident in Beach Street, Sheerness.

Miss Scamp spoke only to give her name, address and age at Sittingbourne Magistrates' Court.

The court was asked by her defence solicitor Alan Balneaves to consider bail, but this was refused.

Miss Scamp, who had family in the public gallery, was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, March 27.
