A KIDNAPPED depot manager told a court about the terrifying moment when he discovered his wife and young child were also being held by same armed gang.

Giving evidence at the Old Bailey, Colin Dixon, from Herne Bay, relived the moment last February when he was snatched from his car by members of the gang which carried out the £53 million cash heist of the Securitas dept in Tonbridge.

Mr Dixon told the court how, with his hands tied and eyes taped, he was taken to mystery destination.

When one of the gang started to interrogate him about the Securitas depot Mr Dixon, who had already been threatened with a gun, said he gave accurate answers to everything because he was scared about what would happen if he did not.

He said: "If I had moved, if there had been an accident, I could have been shot.

"I've never, ever been though anything like this before. It was the most scared I've ever been in my life."

Later he added: "I was very scared, very scared but I also felt guilty and annoyed having to answer their questions."

The situation grew more tense when Mr Dixon was told that his wife and young child were also being held.

When the gang told him this was the case, he asked how he could believe them.

Still blindfolded and restrained, Mr Dixon was forced to sit on the side of the van he was being held in while Mrs Dixon was brought over.

She asked him if he was ok, allowing him to recognise her voice.

Commanded not to speak, he could only ask if she and their child were ok.

Mr Dixon told how at one point his wife asked if she and the child could go to the lavatory and the child was taken away without either parent.

Mr Dixon said: "I couldn't see her but we've been married for quite a few years and I could feel that she was upset."

Mr Dixon was eventually taken from the van, his blindfold removed while one of the gang interrogated him while they looked at a plan of the depot in Vale Road, Tonbridge.

At one point Mr Dixon turned and saw the gun aimed at his head.

A seventh man, Keith Borer, from Hampstead Lane, Yalding, stands accused of dishonestly receiving £6,100 of stolen Securitas money, which he denies.

The trial continues.
